Total of 31,580 Flight hours 19/11/01. Retired in August 2006 and is situated at RAAF Amberley QLD. Was in Service with 33 Sqn RAAF. Acquired for special event charters around Europe by Tom Vaughn, the Managing Director & General Manager of the Cambridge-based Turbine Motor Works. The aircraft was fitted with a 160-seat all-economy interior, and departed Amberley for the US to have hushkits fitted to its P&W JT3D (TF33) engines in additional to a TCAS system and a security cockpit door. Test flown as N707QJ at 1230 on 16/07/2007 before departing Amberley late that day bound for the UK via Darwin, Male and Cairo. (Two reports, one engine mods in US and another saying it was at Amberley. It is hoped the aircraft will be ready in time to commemorate and replicate PanAm's inaugural 1958 trans-Atlantic jet service from New York JFK to Paris |

I have been advised that this aircraft is having its floor beams and deck replaced in 2002, which could possibly mean it wont be retired in 2002. Avalon 2007. Was in Service 33 Sqn. Advised 04/08/2007 this aircraft has been retired and was parked next to A20-627 at Richmond, exact details unknown. |

I have been advised that this aircraft is having its floor beams and deck replaced in 2002, which could possibly mean it wont be retired in 2003. Avalon 2007. Special nose markings for Avaloon Airshow 2007. In Service 33 Sqn. A20-624 will be the last 707 in service and will retire June 2008. Still has the nose art on it minus "Avalon Air Show 2007" titles. |

Purchased by the RAAF 1983 and converted to B707 Tanker 1990's. East Sale Airshow 1996. Named 'City of Sydney'. Total of 58.053 Flight hours 19/11/01. Deployed to Kyrgyzstan in 2002 to support Coalition Forces in Afghanistan. Was to be withdrawn by 09/02. Was in Service 33 Sqn. Retired 31/10/07. The final task for ‘City of Sydney’ saw it fly from RAAF Base Richmond to RAAF Base East Sale and Hobart for a series of ‘touch-and-go’ landings, aiding training for 33 Squadron crews. will be kept at RAAF Base Richmond and used to support the continued operation of ‘Richmond Town’. A decision will be made by Defence on the final disposal of its B707 fleet and associated equipment during 2008. |
