| P1-023 | P1-023 | P1-00-200 | Belongs to and currently located at Australia's Museum of Flight, Nowra NSW. The aircraft has 4 little paracutes on the starboard side of the airframe. I can only assume that this relates to the number of successful recoveries of the drone. |
We know at least 7 prototypes and 12 production drones were delivered to the RAAF/RAN. P1-023 is held by AMOF, so there is more. If you have any information on the Turana which may be of help please contact us.
The engine of a drone from Australia's Museum of Flight was removed on the 9th February 1995, this is a Microturbo 022-01 engine (Serial Number 114). This engine has now made its way into a BD-5J aircraft owned by Juan Jimenez.
There was also a Turana at Wangaratta, does anyone know which one it is? It was on loan to the Museum from HdH and has returned.
