Converted to limousine status with 3 passenger seats where the rear cockpit had been. Made the first flight between Gisborne and Auckland on 04 April 1922. Damaged in a forced landing at Pahiatua on 12 April 1922 and returned to Christchurch by surface. Rebuilt and handed back to the Government for a nominal cost on 21 June 1923 when the company was wound up. Reconverted to normal configuration during the winter of 1924 and served with the NZPAF until the end of 1930. In NZPAF service these aircraft were known just by their numbers, the prefix letter being deleted. Possibly used as instructional airframe before being broken up and burnt at Wigram during the 1930's. |
| D3139 | ? | Imperial Gift Aircraft issued to NZ Aero Transport Company Ltd, Timaru as G-NZAM. Arrived at Timaru on "S.S. Waimana" in September 1920 and erected at the Olympia Garage before being taken to a landing ground that had been formed at Washdyke. Made the first direct flight between Invercargill and Auckland via Timaru and Wellington commencing on 24 October 1921. BOC with the NZPAF on 14 June 1923 after the company went into liquidation on 27 March of that year. Reconverted to normal configuration during the winter of 1924 and served with the NZPAF until the end of 1930. In NZPAF service these aircraft were known just by their numbers, the prefix letter being deleted. Possibly used as instructional airframe before being broken up and burnt at Wigram during the 1930's. |
